Not every politician comes with a combat-tested resume. Representative Tim Goodwin Republican lawmaker for South Dakota's District 30, is one of the rare exceptions. A retired U.S. Army Lieutenant Colonel, Tim Goodwin has served in the South Dakota House of Representatives multiple times, first from 2017 to 2023, and again from January 2025. His return to Pierre was not accidental. Voters in District 30 returned him to office decisively in November 2024, with 10,094 votes per Ballotpedia, the highest in a two-seat race that included four candidates.
